WHO IS DYNAMO HUM?
I GREW UP ON THE NORTH COAST OF THE US AND AS A YOUNG TEEN I WATCHED MY FATHER RACE THE FAMILY FORD COUNTRY SQUIRE STATION WAGON AT THE DRAGSTRIPS OF NORTHEAST OHIO. FINALLY IN 1969 MY MOTHER GAVE THE GO-AHEAD TO MY FATHER TO BUY A BRAND NEW CRYSTAL BLUE DODGE DART 340 SWINGER WITH A 3 SPEED TORQUE FLITE ON THE COLUMN (NO RADIO). I REMEMBER SOMETIME IN SEPTEMBER OF 1969 HIS FIRST PASS DOWN DRAGWAY 42 IN OHIO AND HOW EXCITED HE WAS TO TURN IN A 14.97S QUARTER MILE. BACK THEN A 14 SECOND PASS WAS A MUST TO BE CONSIDERED "FAST". AFTER A VERY AVERAGE HIGH SCHOOL CAREER I LEFT TO SEE THE WORLD IN THE US NAVY AND WAS STATIONED JUST 80 MILES FROM WHERE I LIVE TODAY. AFTER MY FIRST DEGREE IN MECHANICAL DESIGN I MOVED TO HOUSTON IN 1980 AND STARTED MY CAREER WORKING IN THE BOOMING OIL & GAS INDUSTRY. OVER THE NEXT 9 YEARS I GOT MARRIED, AQUIRED 3 DAUGHTERS AND WORKED IN THE ENGINEERING DEPARTMENTS OF SEVERAL OIL AND GAS COMPANIES. I FINSHED MY UNDERGRAD STUDIES AT THE UNIVERSITY OF HOUSTON EARNING AN BS IN STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING (AND THE OUTSTANDING ENGINEERING GRADUATE AWARD FOR MY GRADUATING CLASS). I THEN FINISHED GRADUATE STUDIES AT HOUSTON BAPTIST UNIVERSTITY AND EARNED AN MBA IN FINANCE AND STATISTICS AND BY 1996 I WAS SO GOTDAMN INTELLEGENT I DECIDED TO ATTEMPT WHAT I THOUGHT HAD NEVER BEEN DONE BEFORE BUT I QUICKLY FOUND OUT EINSTIEN HAD ALREADY FIGURED OUT THAT THEORY OF RELATIVITY STUFF SO INSTEAD I DECIDED TO MOVE BACK TO OHIO AND FINISHED OUT MY WORKING CAREER WITH 20 YEARS DESIGNING A/C AND REFRIGERATION SCROLL COMPRESSORS WHERE MY COMPANY SENT TO ME TO SCHOOL TO EARN A MASTERS IN PROJECT MANAGEMENT FROM GEORGETOWN UNIVERSITY IN DC. CREATE SIMPLE EXCEL SPREADSHEETS YOU COULD INPUT YOUR QUARTER MILE ELAPSED TIMES AND CALCULATE ROUGH ESTIMATES OF HP AND TQ. BY 2019 THE 60-130 DRAGY ELAPSED TIME HAD BECOME QUITE POPULAR AS THE NEW QUARTER MILE BENCHMARK SO I DECIDED TO FOCUS ON THAT. ONE DAY I CAME ACROSS A POST IN A MUSTANG FORUM THAT ASKED "I WONDER IF THE DRAGY 60-130 CAN BE USED TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH HORSEPOWER YOU HAVE"? MANY CHIMED IN AND SAID "NO...NOT REALLY BUT YOU CAN GET A ROUGH ESTIMATE" OR THERE WAS "NOT ENOUGH INFORMATION IN A 60-130 DRAGY REPORT". I COMMENTED "SURE YOU CAN" BECAUSE I HAD ALREADY DONE IT. STILL I HAD MANY POST GRAD AND PhD MATH STUDENT CANDIDATES TELL ME IT COULD NOT BE DONE FOR ONE REASON OR ANOTHER, USUSALLY BECAUSE THERE WAS "NOT ENOUGH INFORMATION". I WAS LITERALLY KICKED OUT OF ONE PHYSICS AND MATH FORUM BECAUSE I INSISTED IT COULD BE DONE. I HAD ONE FORUM ADMINISTRATOR CALL ME "DELUSIONAL". BACK AT THE RANCH I DEVELOPED THE MATH NEEDED TO CALCULATE THE DYNAMIC EFFICIENCY OF A CAR'S DRIVETRAIN AS IT RACES DOWN THE DRAGSTRIP OR ROAD. LAST, BUT NOT LEAST, I DEVELOPED THE MATH REQUIRED TO ACCURATELY ESTABLISH WHEN A CAR IS LIKELY TO LIFT IT'S FRONT WHEELS OFF THE TRACK AND HOW FAR THEY WILL BE AIRBORNE. WE USED TO CALL IT A WHEELIE. SO HERE WE ARE IN JUNE OF 2025 AND I HAVE DECIDED TO SHARE MY EXCEL PROGRAMS (AT BARGIN PRICES) SO THE DRAGY CROWD CAN UNLOCK THE WEALTH OF CAR PERFORMANCE INFORMATION THAT IS LOCKED AWAY INSIDE A DRAGY PERFORMANCE REPORT OR A TIME SLIP FROM THEIR LOCAL DRAGSTRIP.

WORKED FULL TIME IN THE OIL & GAS INDUSTRY AND WENT TO SCHOOL AT NIGHT FOR 6 YEARS TO EARN A BACHLOR OF SCIENCE IN STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING AND DESIGN. I WAS RECOGNIZED AS THE TOP ENGINEERING STUDENT OF MY GRADUATING CLASS.

WORKED FULL TIME IN THE OIL & GAS INDUSTRY WHILE ATTENDING GRADUATE SCHOOL. I EARNED AN MBA MAJORING IN FINANCE AND STATISTICS.

THE COMPANY IN OHIO I WORKED AT FOR 20 YEARS THOUGHT IS WAS A GREAT IDEA TO SEND ME TO SCHOOL TO EARN A DEGREE IN PROJECT MANAGEMENT. I WAS NOT THRILLED BUT FROM 1998 TO 2002 I TRAVELED ALL OVER THE U.S. TO ATTEND CLASSES AND ENDED UP WITH A MASTERS IN PROJECT MGT IN 2002 AND A PMP DESIGNATION AFTER MY NAME. 3T5
